nifty thrifty neon

top & cami: Forever 21 (similar). jeans: thrift find (similar via ASOS). heels: Steve Madden. arm candy: Forever 21 (similar), Nixon, David Yurman, cross made by local jewelry designer (similar via Miss Selfridge)

These jeans are definitely one of my favorite thrift store finds…but I’m pretty sure I say that about everything I find. The crazy print and neon colors jumped out at me instantly when browsing through the racks. I couldn’t leave home without them. It’s always fun to take risks with such wild colors and prints.

Something Borrowed.

hat: given to me by my grandfather. (similar) top: Banana Republic via Goodwill. (similar) skirt: Forever 21 (similar skirt, different print). sandals: Steve Madden (old). purse: Forever 21. sunglasses: Forever 21.

The weather this weekend was absolutely…beachy. So what better timing to throw together a light and airy outfit with a panama-style hat? This hat actually used to belong to my “Abuelo Gordo” (aka: Fat Grandpa). Years ago when I was visiting him at his house in Spain, I couldn’t help but ask him every time he wore it if I could wear it instead. I think because I asked him so much, he just let me keep it. It’s a great hat! I love to wear it out to the beach or even days like this where I’m spending the afternoon shopping.

Thanks Abuelo!

Punky Brewster.

blouse: H&M. jacket: Love 21 (similar). pants: ASOS. (Love the matching blazer!) shoes: c/o Shoe Privee. bag: Hermes. accessories: Michael Kors Watch, David Yurman Bracelet, Forever 21 Bracelet, Forever 21 sunglasses (similar).

This has to be one of my favorite outfits ever. Everything about it expresses my 21st century Punky Brewster style. The casual/tomboy-ish-ness of the cargo jacket, the spunk from the floral, and the pizazz from the shoes. Perfection. I’ve recently become a follower of the floral pant trend. I know I splurged a little on these from ASOS, I couldn’t resist the print. BUT I did well in finding you a “steal” on a similar pair from Anthropologie. Yes, I know. You’re welcome. Now, can we please now focus our attention to what’s inhabiting the area south of the ankles?

These heels. are. amazing. Just got them in from ShoePrivee.com. It’s a shoe-subscription website that has a great collection of designer shoes at a VERY affordable price. All shoes start at $39.95. There’s no membership fees & FREE shipping. Hey now! Perfect for us frugalistas out there. Head on over to their site to check out their collection. You won’t regret it.

When Belts Become Bowties.

top: Thrift Find (I found a similar look at ASOS). jeans: Forever 21. heels: Topshop (sold out, but I’ve got my eye on other neon pairs here and here). purse: Zara. sunglasses: Forever 21 (similar).

Agh the fun times when belts get stolen from leopard jumpsuits (from the one I wore here) and become bow ties. It was a wild idea, but I went with it and loved every single bit of androgyny. However, I couldn’t let the crazy train take a stop there at my neck. I let it ride all the way down south of my ankles. The site of lucite and neon bring up the thought that this heel has distinct similarity to that of the infamous “dancer” heels. But oh, are these so far from it. It’s hard to say I haven’t been able to wear these many times, but I still glance at them from a distance in my closet and wonder when these babies will be taken out on the town. But alas, they’ve made their grand entrance. I think by now, you can clearly see the love obsession I have for shoes. I love ’em, what more can I say? Nothing.
