Doing Things Backwards

ASOS Peplum Top | Forever 21 Faux Leather Pants (Similar) | Shoe Dazzle Heels (A new favorite!) | Beauty and Guilt Studded Clutch c/o | Nixon Watch | Half United Earrings

This burst of cold weather in Miami has me way too excited. I don’t even want to wear a jacket! Everyone at work constantly asks me “Are you cold?” about 10 times each day and my simple response, other than “no”, is I’m so happy it’s not about 100 degrees where you don’t want to wear ANYTHING, so for the time being (aka 3 days) I want to enjoy the coolness in the air and embrace it with naked arms! (and leather pants).

Question: how do you feel about “daytime” clutches?
I’m a fan of the backwards transition & love my new studded clutch c/o of the online boutique, Beauty & Guilt. I’ve had the chance to chat with the sister duo who owns the trendy shop and they’re great! I’ve got a couple more posts coming up featuring some of their clothing and I can’t wait to show you, so stay stuned… 😉

Sleepy Face Scottish School Girl

Forever 21 TeePlaid Skirt (No longer available online, but here are some other options: 1, 2, 3) & Purse (Here’s another studded purse!) | The Limited Varsity Jacket (Sold Out) (Similar)| Bebe Boots (Over 3 years old) | Vintage Gold Chain Belt

Here’s my excuse for the sleepy face: 7:30am rushing out the door to head for work, no makeup on, barely any sleep, and it’s cold out!

As for the meaning behind the rest of the title, it has to do with all the things my friends said about my outfit. Hey…. I got inspired after a conversation that involved Gossip Girl + missing the good ole High School days. Can you blame me?

PrintsonPrintsonPrints

If you live in Miami, you definitely took witness to the beautiful sunset last night. I couldn’t help but to snap a pic!

Gap Striped Top (similar)| Target Plaid Blazer + Leopard Pants | YSL Colorblock Heels  (c/o Saks) | Half United Necklace | Nixon Watch | David Yurman Bracelet | Rings: Gifted

I. LOVE. TO. MIX. PRINTS. And when I found this plaid blazer at Target over the weekend, I just knew I had to pair it with something leopard. I just had to. And because of the unexpected red underneath the collar, I thought what better than to add more prints into the mix to contrast together with the red. Then you know with that kind of color combination, the only shoe that would be perfect for the job would be my YSL heels (it’s still so wild to me that I won these heels). Some may think it crazy, but I call it amazing. Absolutely amazing. And fun too, of course.

As you noticed, my necklace. I hope you noticed. I only put a big detail shot of it. Well, I never take it off. It’s a new favorite of mine. Not because of it’s “repurposed” vibes, but because of the cause it backs up and operates for: Fighting Hunger. I’ve had the opportunity to chat with Carmin + Christian, the brother sister duo who are founders of Half United, and they’re amazing! I’m working with them on a really cool project, so take this bit of news as the “Monday” sneak peek I totally missed. (Sorry I’ve been so MIA on the blog, it’s been a hectic couple of days.) I would definitely recommend that you check out their site, their story, and best of all: their necklaces! And get one. Because it’s not just the cool thing to do. It’s a good thing to do.

Hope you all have had a great week so far. One more day to go & it’s the weekend. Thank God!
see you soon. xoxo.
