Spring Break Essentials

It’s right about that time…Spring Break. (Well, for most of us.) The time where all your friends are in town together, you’re going to be by some body of water (whether it be the beach, pool, or you’re on a boat), and you’re ready to have a good time. I’ve put together two outfits that I find the perfect fit for the occasion. I’ve incorporated the biggest trends for this season with a little bit of that Ashley flair. I chose pieces that you can always mix and match and can the idea of making them “cover ups” and put it together as an outfit to go out for a later time.

Look #1: I’m an advocate of taking care of my face when in the sun, so I’m always collecting cool hats that will help me cover up but look great. I love the pop of color this fedora adds to the outfit. Fuchsia is a big color this Spring! This look is completed with color blocking accessories that will make you stand out. (and we all know that’s the important part.)

hat: Target. necklace: Mod Cloth. sandals: Sam Edelman. sunglasses: ASOS. cover up: Topshop. watch: Nixon. bikini: Tara Matthews via The Outnet.

Look #2: Since the weather during this time is getting hotter, but not excruciating like the Summer, you can get away with covering up your tunic with a chambray button down rolled at the sleeves and unbuttoned for that “jean jacket” look.  Put it together with a printed tunic over a bright bikini and some neutral accessories and you are good to go!

I’ll take my outfits in twos please.

I’m beginning to like this whole two outfit “Twosday” thing I got going on here.  It’s fun to make two outfits out of one item from my closet. I went with a similar flow of neutrals in these outfits. Kept the same pants, shoes, and jewelry… but made them individual with a pop of print and color.

the basics:
pants: Love 21 (similar). shoes: (not pictured) Steve Madden. list of things inhabiting my wrist: H&M orange wrap bracelet, Nixon watch, David Yurman bracelet,  ID bracelet (old). ring: Forever 21.

Look #1
top: Twelve by Twelve (old). clutch: H&M (similar).

Look #2
top: River Island (old).  clutch: Forever 21.

Monochromatic Monday

top: H&M (similar). shorts: Zara. heels: Zara. bag: Hermes (thrifted). scarf: Lulu Guinness (thrifted; similar “key to my heart” scarf.)

I was dying to buy these shoes at Zara, but for some reason I held back…IDK WHY! And the day I wanted to buy them, they sold out online. SOLD OUT. I wanted to cry. Until, I was “venting” with a friend and was going to show her a similar style, and there they were. Only one left, and in my size. A GIFT FROM SHOE HEAVEN! Thank you Zara angels. They’re the perfect pop of color to my monochromatic look on this cloudy day.
