bold colors, animal and floral prints, and black and whites.

Oh, the typical description of most things inhabiting my closet space. And after this week, the percentage only increases. Need to do some “spring cleaning” soon to make some space. Be excited…this only means I’ll probably be selling some of my closet and it’s your chance to have a piece of me in your life. Lovely, I promise. Here’s a few things I picked up this week that will make me closer to being a broke city chick.

this one’s for the birds.

top: Old Navy. pants: Forever 21. shoes: Bass via TJ Maxx. purse: c/o Lo & Sons. watch: Nixon. bracelets: Spike The Punch & David Yurman.

I finally got my bird shirt from Old Navy! Wahoo! After days of pondering which color to choose, I went for the navy color… I’m so glad I did. The fit is perfect and so light and comfortable and let’s not forget about that fun print! I can’t wait to wear it again.

And now…..a big thanks to Lo & Sons for sending over their Brookline Tote! It’s the perfect bag for traveling and has made the best fit for my choice of handbag for school. It’s my last semester, so I’m always having to take my laptop to classes for projects and research. This stylish take on a briefcase fits everything from my laptop, to notebooks, pencil case, and some extra goodies like my magazines and makeup bag. So I feel much better not having to look like a bag lady. Yeah, I know you’re thinking, “…that bag? fits all of that?” OH yeah…They’ve got proof for you. Check out their video, here.

To add to all it’s greatness, is the pop of color it will add to any outfit I’ll be wearing. Because you know me, I’m not…well…blah. I’m so excited to be able to use it to it’s full potential this summer for all my traveling plans! Cue in the expression of excitement here:

When Belts Become Bowties.

top: Thrift Find (I found a similar look at ASOS). jeans: Forever 21. heels: Topshop (sold out, but I’ve got my eye on other neon pairs here and here). purse: Zara. sunglasses: Forever 21 (similar).

Agh the fun times when belts get stolen from leopard jumpsuits (from the one I wore here) and become bow ties. It was a wild idea, but I went with it and loved every single bit of androgyny. However, I couldn’t let the crazy train take a stop there at my neck. I let it ride all the way down south of my ankles. The site of lucite and neon bring up the thought that this heel has distinct similarity to that of the infamous “dancer” heels. But oh, are these so far from it. It’s hard to say I haven’t been able to wear these many times, but I still glance at them from a distance in my closet and wonder when these babies will be taken out on the town. But alas, they’ve made their grand entrance. I think by now, you can clearly see the love obsession I have for shoes. I love ’em, what more can I say? Nothing.

2 Outfits. 1 Jumpsuit.

Basics: Leopard Jumpsuit, Forever 21 (Similar). Strappy Platforms, Jessica Simpson.

Outfit #1: Vest, Express. Clutch, Thrifted (last seen here).
This outfit is perfect for brunch/lunch, shopping, or an outdoor event during the day. I topped the jumpsuit with a classic long fitted vest and tied it together with the belt that comes with the jumpsuit. Kept it sweet and simple for a day time look with the woven clutch.

Outfit #2: Crop Top, Bebe (similar). Necklace, Express. Clutch, Marc Jacobs.
After your daytime activities, you’ve made plans to go out at night. But, you really don’t know what to wear. I’ve got an idea. Keep the jumpsuit on and add a crop top to give the illusion that you’re wearing high-waisted pants. With a touch of punk, a statement necklace makes the outfit complete.

Why should a jumpsuit be limited to be worn as a “jumpsuit”? I’m one to maximize the use of anything I buy. Clearly, you can see that here. So why not have fun with it?!
