A Carrie Bradshaw Moment

tee: eBay find. skinnies: H&M (similar). heels: Zara. cargo jacket: Forever 21. clutch: Target. pin: handmade (up on Shop the Closet this week!)

It’s Monday. The perfect day to really get up and say “let’s do something!” I found this shirt randomly a few years ago from an Australian seller on eBay. It’s been such a conversation piece everytime I wear it. But this time, I wanted to do something different.

My beautiful friend Elisa from Live Play Love made me this awesome flower pin! We’ll be posting them on my Shop the Closet page this week in an assortment of colors. Majority of the proceeds will be to help raise funds for a Bahamas Missions trip this summer. Isn’t the pin amazing? Once I pinned it to my cargo jacket, I had a serious Carrie Bradshaw moment. I knew it was the perfect thing to match with my tee and colored skinnies. Let’s not forget my new Zara color block heels and Target clutch. Remember these? I couldn’t resist buying a second pair once they debuted on Zara’s website. I mean… they’re perfect.

And of course, we can’t set aside the craziness of my outfit without showing my true crazy personality. As you can tell in the last picture, that is me. Crazy ole me. On my car.

Graduation

yes, inside that pretty little folder holds the proof of all my hard work for the past 4 years.

yes, that is a sombrero on the top of my cap.

And now, enough of all the mushy “I graduated!” pictures. Here comes the good stuff.

BAM. I’m ridiculously sassy. Watch me undress in the least flattering way.

I’m wearing a Fashion Star for H&M Dress and UrbanOg.com heels.

Bet you wouldn’t believe me when I say I spent less than $50 on my whole outfit!

And as the cap says, it’s time to party! As most of you know (well, now all of you know) I’m officially a college graduate! Other than making it across the stage without falling, my favorite part of the night was getting to my boyfriend’s house and being surprised with a DELICIOUS dinner party with family and friends! It was such a special and eventful night.

It all hasn’t hit me yet, but I’m sure it will smack me across the face one of these days when I no longer have to rush to register for classes, find parking on campus, or stack up sleepless nights for an important deadline. Agh, what a feeling. I cannot wait to see what I have in store for my future. For now, it’s time to enjoy my new job and my new found free time, now it’s time for all of you newly registered college students to start that wonderful college life. It won’t be easy but it’s definitely not impossible if you set your priorities straight, the only struggle i really had was paying off my classes, but thankfully I was eligible for graduate student loans the last few years of college and I was able to complete my dream.

here are a few pics I snapped while at the ceremony via instagram:

Spotty Dotty

blouse: Marshalls (similar & here too). shorts: made ’em (soon to be up on Shop The Closet – stay tuned!). shoes: Vans. purse: Forever 21. arm candy: Lauren Elan, H&M, Michael Kors. nails: Essie “Exposure”.

I’ve been obsessing over polka dots lately. I spotted (heh, no pun intened) this blouse at Marshalls when on a break at work and HAD TO HAVE IT. It’s got a hi-low hem and romantic sleeves. Versatile to wear with colored trousers and heels or with distressed shorts and sneaks. My kind of top.

tempting turban times.

bag: Forever 21 Men (old – similar here). shoes: Zara (back in stock…YAY!). pants: H&M (similar – love this color!). top: Forever 21 (I just bought a bunch of these!). headband: Forever 21. nails: Exposure by Essie & toes: Lapis of Luxury by Essie. lipstick: CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Spellbound #325. watch: Michel Kors. arm candy: varied – Lauren Elan, H&M, David Yurman.

I’ve been all about basics lately with my crazy schedule, but I’ve managed to spruce them up a bit with patterns and heels. Like I mentioned in the sneaky peeky post, it’s my first time experimenting with turban inspired headbands and I must say I was quite amused. I actually went back to F21 and bought two more. It’s the impulsive shopper in me. (I mean, you can’t really pass them up at less than 5 bucks right?).
