Leather & Neon.

Coming out of the Easter weekend where everyone is dressed in pastels, linen, and bright colors… I’ve decided to do this week a little differently.

Today I’m wearing an oatmeal colored tee from Zara (similar here), zipper-at-the-ankle-jeans from H&M (similar here), and Zara heels. The bracelet is from Forever 21, but really old. (I found this really cool one at ASOS for you.)

I would call this look the Pastel Rebellion? The pants of wax? It’s a little bit Ashley and a little bit of Rock-n-Roll? Or I could just call it “Leather & Neon.” hence the already given title to the post. Whatever it is, it doesn’t change that I love everything about this outfit. The detailing of the gold zippers, combined with the neon and snake prints south of my ankles, plus the tee shirt that looks plain Jane until you see my shoulders (and you’re like WOAH! Leather accents!!!)- it all falls together just right.

side note: that was my reaction when I found it, so I’m guessing it might be yours too… *wishful thinking*

This is me, side noting once again: My boyfriend Adrian tagged along with me in this shoot (He’ll say I made him… which he could be right, but I’m not telling). He couldn’t resist being behind the camera, so when we were finished, he jumped right in and played the “suave, macho man” part. Not too shabby. I laughed so much with this collage that Janelle put together!

Funky Florals

blouse: H&M (similar here & here). pants: H&M (similar). shoes: Zara. purse: Michael Kors. glasses: House of Harlow.

There’s nothing like that feeling of wearing a brand new outfit. I did a bit of a shopping spree this past week. (You can’t blame me though.) The nearest H&M to me is almost 2 hours away, so when I decide to make the drive… I make it worthwhile. Hence the fact that you have been seeing more of it in my daily wardrobe.

I’m so in love with this floral print blouse. The versatility of it gives me the opportunity to throw it on with some jeans and heels like these or even with a pair of pants like the ones I have on in this outfit. I subtly snuck in the snake pattern and it fit together so perfectly. Maybe it’s because the shoes are just that amazing. It’s always fun to mix your patterns as long as you don’t go too crazy. Speaking of shoes!…. I’ve got a present for you: 40% Off All Shoes at House of Harlow! Use Coupon Code: 40OFF at Checkout!

You’re welcome. XO. Happy Thursday.

bold colors, animal and floral prints, and black and whites.

Oh, the typical description of most things inhabiting my closet space. And after this week, the percentage only increases. Need to do some “spring cleaning” soon to make some space. Be excited…this only means I’ll probably be selling some of my closet and it’s your chance to have a piece of me in your life. Lovely, I promise. Here’s a few things I picked up this week that will make me closer to being a broke city chick.

Breaking the Rules.

top: H&M. jeans: H&M. shoes: Urban Outfitters c/o my beautiful friend Andrea. sunglasses: Karen Walker. accessories: Michael Kors watch, Forever 21 cuff.

In honor of the beginning of Spring, I decided to break the “rules” of the don’t wear white after Labor Day. Yeah, whatever. I live in Miami and the weather here is always tropical, so it’s hard to stop yourself from not wanting to wear your whites. It’s crisp, clean (unless you have the same tendency that I do to somehow dirty yourself), and fun because you have so much opportunity to give the outfit some personality. Like I did here, with these adorable snake loafers. If it’s not the shoes, it’s the accessories too. Check out 3 other ways I would pair the all white look with:

white top & pants

Look #1
ASOS Sunglasses
Steven by Steve Madden Crossbody Bag (This is my “steal” version of the Cambridge Satchel)
ASOS Floral Print Loafers

Look #2
ASOS Croc Laptop Case (Twofer: I would so use this as a clutch too!)
Nine West Heels

Look #3
MAC Lipstick
Jessica Simpson Wedges

Go ahead, give it a try. Break the rules & embrace it!

When Belts Become Bowties.

top: Thrift Find (I found a similar look at ASOS). jeans: Forever 21. heels: Topshop (sold out, but I’ve got my eye on other neon pairs here and here). purse: Zara. sunglasses: Forever 21 (similar).

Agh the fun times when belts get stolen from leopard jumpsuits (from the one I wore here) and become bow ties. It was a wild idea, but I went with it and loved every single bit of androgyny. However, I couldn’t let the crazy train take a stop there at my neck. I let it ride all the way down south of my ankles. The site of lucite and neon bring up the thought that this heel has distinct similarity to that of the infamous “dancer” heels. But oh, are these so far from it. It’s hard to say I haven’t been able to wear these many times, but I still glance at them from a distance in my closet and wonder when these babies will be taken out on the town. But alas, they’ve made their grand entrance. I think by now, you can clearly see the love obsession I have for shoes. I love ’em, what more can I say? Nothing.
