nifty thrifty neon

top & cami: Forever 21 (similar). jeans: thrift find (similar via ASOS). heels: Steve Madden. arm candy: Forever 21 (similar), Nixon, David Yurman, cross made by local jewelry designer (similar via Miss Selfridge)

These jeans are definitely one of my favorite thrift store finds…but I’m pretty sure I say that about everything I find. The crazy print and neon colors jumped out at me instantly when browsing through the racks. I couldn’t leave home without them. It’s always fun to take risks with such wild colors and prints.

Christmas came real early for me this year. I entered an Instagram competition with Saks Fifth Avenue a few weeks ago and WON $1000 Gift Card! It was one of the most surprising and jaw dropping experiences ever to find out I had won. But once it got down to making my purchase or purchases, I freaked out. As many of you know, I’m a woman who maximizes her purchases and never splurges. I had no idea what to do, but at the same time I did. I wanted a new pair of shoes! After all those steal finds, it was my turn to finally purchase the splurge! Walking into the Saks shoe department was like walking into shoe heaven, no joke. All the brands I had dreamed of owning, were there at my fingertips ready to be told “I’m taking you home!” After trying on pair after pair, nothing made my heart go bonkers like these heels. Immediately when I put them on, I knew these were the ones. So I got them and I don’t want to take them off. Us women and our shoes….

Now in the spirit of giving I’ve teamed up with Nani and Kaki Lopez from N&K Designs to give away one of their neon rhinestone bracelets (like the one I’m wearing above)! They’re so fun and just the perfect thing to make your arm candy sparkle. Want to win? Here’s the catch:

ssssssnake pants

top: Forever 21 (similar – love the polka dots!). pants: Zara (similar). shoes: GoJane. purse: Zara. necklace: one of my favorite graduation gifts, thank you Fran!

I finally wore these shoes! Remember that Splurge VS Steal I did a few months back? They have been sitting in my closet for a while now waiting to be taken out. I finally decided to debut them for a small dinner I had with my friend the other night. It was a random and casual evening, and I wanted to dress up the casual look with snake print pants. To me, these pants are like a pair of jeans. I wear them up with a nice asymmetrical blouse and heels or down with this kind of look. Some say a printed trouser isn’t versatile because of it’s print, but it definitely is.

A Carrie Bradshaw Moment

tee: eBay find. skinnies: H&M (similar). heels: Zara. cargo jacket: Forever 21. clutch: Target. pin: handmade (up on Shop the Closet this week!)

It’s Monday. The perfect day to really get up and say “let’s do something!” I found this shirt randomly a few years ago from an Australian seller on eBay. It’s been such a conversation piece everytime I wear it. But this time, I wanted to do something different.

My beautiful friend Elisa from Live Play Love made me this awesome flower pin! We’ll be posting them on my Shop the Closet page this week in an assortment of colors. Majority of the proceeds will be to help raise funds for a Bahamas Missions trip this summer. Isn’t the pin amazing? Once I pinned it to my cargo jacket, I had a serious Carrie Bradshaw moment. I knew it was the perfect thing to match with my tee and colored skinnies. Let’s not forget my new Zara color block heels and Target clutch. Remember these? I couldn’t resist buying a second pair once they debuted on Zara’s website. I mean… they’re perfect.

And of course, we can’t set aside the craziness of my outfit without showing my true crazy personality. As you can tell in the last picture, that is me. Crazy ole me. On my car.
