This past week, I got together with the ladies of my LiFE Group (small group/bible study/Ladies night out!) and had a thanksgiving extravaganza. But instead of just eating everything in sight and then heading off on our own way. We stayed. To do what you might ask. Well, after giving thanks, we gave hope. We spent the rest of our evening putting together 10 boxes for Operation Christmas Child. If you’re not familiar with the operation, it’s run by Samaritan’s Purse and it is an opportunity for kids all over the world to be able to enjoy the beauty of Christmas who normally wouldn’t be able to. I’ve been packing boxes since I was in middle school and it is a great feeling to know that you’re giving hope and love to a child with some of the most simple things that we take for granted such as: soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, and toys.
this sweet potato casserole was so good! you can find the recipe here: http://bit.ly/82n0rm
If you haven’t looked into being a part of OCC and want to pack a box, I encourage you to do so! This week is National Collection week and the 19th is the last day to send yours out. For more info, visit this link here: http://bit.ly/MdyoG & http://bit.ly/BEVnO
