Leather & Neon.

Coming out of the Easter weekend where everyone is dressed in pastels, linen, and bright colors… I’ve decided to do this week a little differently.

Today I’m wearing an oatmeal colored tee from Zara (similar here), zipper-at-the-ankle-jeans from H&M (similar here), and Zara heels. The bracelet is from Forever 21, but really old. (I found this really cool one at ASOS for you.)

I would call this look the Pastel Rebellion? The pants of wax? It’s a little bit Ashley and a little bit of Rock-n-Roll? Or I could just call it “Leather & Neon.” hence the already given title to the post. Whatever it is, it doesn’t change that I love everything about this outfit. The detailing of the gold zippers, combined with the neon and snake prints south of my ankles, plus the tee shirt that looks plain Jane until you see my shoulders (and you’re like WOAH! Leather accents!!!)- it all falls together just right.

side note: that was my reaction when I found it, so I’m guessing it might be yours too… *wishful thinking*

This is me, side noting once again: My boyfriend Adrian tagged along with me in this shoot (He’ll say I made him… which he could be right, but I’m not telling). He couldn’t resist being behind the camera, so when we were finished, he jumped right in and played the “suave, macho man” part. Not too shabby. I laughed so much with this collage that Janelle put together!

It's Monday.

it’s monday. it’s the last month of school. it’s time to dress in comfortable library attire without lookin’ like a fool.

Now that my final semester of college is coming to a quick end, the projects and studying for final exams are getting the best of my brain this month. I didn’t have enough time this AM to shoot today’s outfit, but here’s a mock up. I’m loving side split maxi skirts a lot lately. You’ve seen me wear them here and here. They’re fun, they’re casual, and a little spicey! I paired mine with a Forever 21 white tee, turquoise necklace, Michael Kors bag, and my Shoe Privee heels.

That being said… let’s get the week started with a Splurge VS Steal action.

Splurge: Michael Kors. Steal: Forever 21.

I spotted this steal over the weekend while I was browsing shopping at Forever 21. Once I picked it up, all I could see was the Michael Kors Jet Set Tote. Minus the fact that it comes with silver detailing instead of gold. But who cares! It’s a $30 bag compared to $200. With that kind of steal, you got yourself a new purse and some extra spending money for what you’ll get this MK bag for. Now that’s a good dosage of happiness to cure the Monday blues. Don’t you say?

Style Challenge: Day Three

Today’s look: The Finale to this week’s style challenge…ITS FRIDAY. It’s time to let your hair down and have a fun night out on the town!

Add ons: Forever 21 Sequin Sleeved Blazer (Still available online!), Steve Madden Heels.

This was the funnest part of the style challenge. Finding an outfit that is perfect for a night out is easy, but to find one that stands out is the tough/fun part. This jacket does it all for me. And for only under $40, you can’t pass up on a deal like this. You can throw it together with jeans, a v-neck tee, and flats or with a simple solid skater dress like this one from ASOS.

I bet now you’re thinking of creating your own style challenge with your closet. I’d love to see what you come up with!

Hope you have a great Easter weekend! XOXO

Style Challenge: Day Two

Today’s look: Semi-Casual.

Same basics, different style.

Add ons: Michael Kors Purse, Karen Walker Sunglasses, Forever 21 B/W Trench, Christian Siriano for Payless Wedges (on Sale!), Michael Kors Watch, Varied Bracelets.

I just bought this trench from Forever 21 the other day, and I must say I’m in lurrrrrve. It’s very light and versatile. In sunny weather you can throw it over a patterned dress like this one from Wallis or go crazy and wear it solo as a dress tied at the waist with a belt. Or of course, you can always wear it “normally” on a gloomy day like today. Meh. Rainy weather, there’s something about you. I love you when I can stay in bed watching movies all day. But not when I have to head to class to finish projects early in the AM.

Who’s with me on this love/hate relationship? I’m sure I have a few takers.
