NYFW always gets me excited.

I love to scan through countless images of upcoming trends on the runways + all the fun (and way too funky) street style. I’ve never been able to physically be a part of Fashion Week, but I would love to one day.

I’m looking forward to masculine touches, sleek lines and pops of bold colors! As you can see, I’ve  already chosen some of my favorite looks above. Definitely keeping them as #Spinspiration for new looks to come on SpinGallery!

What are your favorite things about Fashion Week? Any designers you are looking forward to seeing?

Splurge vs Steal: Fendi vs Spin Gallery

I (almost) forgot how relaxing it was to jot down my current feelings and mood through my fashion musings, house decor, daily life and food. Now that I’m back on the blog, I’ll be posting all sorts of things from wishlist cravings for the home + inside the closet, behind the scenes on Spin Gallery and whatever else comes to mind.

So to celebrate being back, I figured I would start with a Splurge vs Steal!

I’m so fascinated with fur accessories at the moment. It’s very posh without being over the top. The fall is such a fun season to play around with new, different textures before taking the plunge into winter wear.

What’s your favorite accessory trend for this upcoming Fall/Winter season?

BACK IN MIAMI + MAKING MOVES

(and memories…)

When Dorothy repeatedly said “there is no place like home” in the Wizard of Oz, she was right. I can’t help but to always think of that phrase now that I am back in Miami. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my time in Spain. The beauty of the country was spectacular and always a surprise to me every day. Plus, the food is awesome! We spent our time and made great memories, but it was time for Adrian and I to head back to our home roots.

Since I’ve been back I have been focusing on the things that make me extremely happy. My calligraphy and Spin Gallery. I have been working early morning and long nights with goggles, paint all over my hands and arms, power tools and my nail lady so confused why I am coming in for only pedicures. As well as coding websites, photoshoots in this Miami heat and editing photos until 3AM. But hey, in life…when you’re doing something that makes you happy and fulfils you…nothing else matters.

I’ve gotten such great feedback with my work & I have had the opportunity to meet so many new people. I get so excited to see my customers excitement on social media once they’ve got their hands on their new piece. Whether its a bright printed dress or huge reclaimed pallet wood art, my heart is happy.

Have you checked out my new ventures?

My calligraphy is currently being sold on Etsy “Spin Gallery Goods” & will soon make its way to SpinGallery.com (where you will now find clothing, jewellery and accessories!).

MAKIN’ BANANA PANCAKES

I woke up this morning & was in the mood to spruce up some healthy breakfast. Something new, something I’ve never made before. Mmmmm…PANCAKES!
But I had no pancake mix, and wasn’t really interested in using a pre-made one either. I really wanted to say “Good morning! I made pancakes for you… from scratch!” So I started to search all over the internet using keywords of the things I had in my pantry and fridge…and boom!
Out came the blender & the simple ingredients (which you will usually find at your house and can skip the trip to the grocery store) and voila, I made pancakes from scratch!
And they were reaaaally good. And gluten-free too, in case you were wondering.
AshleySixto.com BANANA PANCAKES RECIPE
Yields: 6-8 pancakes (depending on the size)
Ingredients
  • 1½ cup instant/rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon
  • 2 medium bananas, sliced
  • 4 egg whites + 2 whole eggs
  • 1½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2-4 Tbsp. almond milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and coat it with cooking spray or oil. You want to make sure the pan is very hot before you start cooking your pancakes.
  2. Add ingredients to a blender in the order listed and blend until oats are broken down and batter is frothy.
  3. Using a ladle or small measuring cup, drop batter onto skillet until the desired size of pancakes is reached. Cook until the edges begin to look dry and bubbles start to form on the top of the pancake, which is about 1 minute. Using a spatula, flip the pancake and cook about 2 more minutes on the other side. Repeat with remaining batter, making sure to coat your skillet again with oil between each batch.
  4. Remove from heat and serve with your favourite toppings. (I like to add freshly diced strawberries!)

Have you ever made a healthy breakfast from scratch?
I’d love to see if you guys try out this recipe – send me your feedback!

enjoy xx
