Christmas List: A bit of a golden touch!

Happy December everyone! (I know I’m a few days late, whoops!)

I’ve been really thinking about what I want for Christmas and this is always a big challenge for me. Believe it or not. I don’t like to ask for much because 1. I believe it’s a subconscious defense mechanism in my brain to want to be surprised and/or 2. If there’s something I really want, I buy it for myself before I can’t find it again. I’m the worst; guilty.

This month, I will be posting little Christmas lists and gift guides for all my readers. Lists such as: For him, your best friend, your parents, and your dog(s).

Today’s list has a bit of a golden touch and mainly under $50.

1. Coffee Table Books – always a great conversation piece in the home and very inspirational for the office; The Sartorialist ($30), Yves Saint Laurent ($25), Lanvin ($25) via Net-a-Porter.

2. Sneakers! (Always on my list) – I love love love the new Michael Kors metallic sneakers, but for the sake of Christmas listing on a budget, I’ve scored a great steal with these zippered ones from Forever 21; Michael Kors via Nordstrom ($195), Forever 21 ($37).

3. Christmas PJS!!!!!! I love the new black and white collection from Target. The gold polka dot print reminds me of Kate Spade. Am I right? Target PJ Set ($25)

4. New set of arm candy; Marc by Marc Jacobs iPhone Case ($48) via Nordstrom, Dara Ettinger Druzy Ring ($53) via ShopBop, Michael Kors Watch ($250) via Macys, CC Skye Bracelet ($60) via ShopBop.

Stay tuned for more to come!

Give Thanks. Give Hope.

This past week, I got together with the ladies of my LiFE Group (small group/bible study/Ladies night out!) and had a thanksgiving extravaganza. But instead of just eating everything in sight and then heading off on our own way. We stayed. To do what you might ask. Well, after giving thanks, we gave hope. We spent the rest of our evening putting together 10 boxes for Operation Christmas Child. If you’re not familiar with the operation, it’s run by Samaritan’s Purse and it is an opportunity for kids all over the world to be able to enjoy the beauty of Christmas who normally wouldn’t be able to.  I’ve been packing boxes since I was in middle school and it is a great feeling to know that you’re giving hope and love to a child with some of the most simple things that we take for granted such as: soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, and toys.

this sweet potato casserole was so good! you can find the recipe here: http://bit.ly/82n0rm

If you haven’t looked into being a part of OCC and want to pack a box, I encourage you to do so! This week is National Collection week and the 19th is the last day to send yours out. For more info, visit this link here: http://bit.ly/MdyoG & http://bit.ly/BEVnO

Sept. 23

It’s the first official weekend of Fall and I couldn’t be anymore excited. I’ve taken this weekend to work on my Fall/Winter collection of Repurposed by Ashley Sixto (can’t wait to show you!) and to catch up on my Fall wardrobe. My closet rack is slowly but surely filling up with fun outfit ideas which I can’t wait to wear. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Friday Edition of "What I Wore": Adrian's Birthday

dress: c/o Motel Rocks. pumps: Steve Madden (similar). purse: thrift store find. watch: Nixon. bracelets: Forever 21 (similar), N&K Designs, David Yurman.

A few weeks ago, Motel Rocks sent me over this amazing dress! I’ve always been a fan of Motel Rocks. When the dress arrived, I knew it was a perfect summer outing dress…. but where was I going to wear it to????? The bright color stripes, sexy fit, and elegant length was definitely to be saved for a special occasion.

Once this week came along, I knew it would be my outfit of choice. It’s a perfect dress to get dolled up and hit the town! I surprised Adrian with a nice dinner in Downtown called “Crazy About You” and it was such a great night. I felt it was the most appropriate place, well because I’m crazy about Adrian! (I’m such a cheezball…I know) After dinner, we walked around and enjoyed the beautiful nighttime skyline.

Good news! My dress is now part of Motel’s Summer Sale! For $5o it’s a steal. Their sale is satisfyingly dangerous, because there are so many great pieces for the Summer. I’ve got a few waiting in my shopping cart for payday.
